Brought to you by Catalina Laschon, a New Immigrant and Accredited Financial Counselor® in the United States, the “Brave and Glorious New Immigrants in Corporate America” Trilogy is specifically designed for New Immigrants and their Allies.

A masterful, fast-paced, personal finance self-help book, geared toward helping New Immigrants understand and thrive within the American financial system and their new environment.

TESTIMONIAL

Jaqueline Kelly, Accredited Financial Counselor®

As a daughter and spouse of an immigrant, former Army brat and military spouse who has lived abroad numerous times, I appreciate how cultural differences can make it more challenging to communicate, understand, and adapt to your new home in a foreign country. It takes patience, a willingness to learn and listen to pick-up on cultural nuances, and integrate into a new community, while maintaining your self-identity. Unlike Catalina, my mother and husband, my stays abroad have been temporary (weeks, months, years) with the safety net of eventually returning home (to the U.S.).

I’m so proud of Catalina for forging ahead when she could barely see the light at the end of the tunnel, learning and now teaching about corporate America and the U.S. financial system, and for putting pen to paper to publish her first book.

Catalina takes a humorous and honest approach. She admits integration into U.S. culture will be filled with highs and lows and paved with mistakes and accomplishments. She offers specific steps to take, topics and terms to research, and macro to micro views of many topics related to finance, career, workplace, housing and culture. Catalina encourages immigrants to give themselves grace as they embark upon the arduous journey to learn and adapt to the language, expressions, culture, social norms, corporate politics, and financial system.
